A new non-profit organization, Eden Valley Trails, has emerged in Ogden Valley with a mission to enhance community connectivity through the development of both paved and dirt trails. Spearheading this endeavor is Alan Wheelwright, the executive director of Eden Valley Trails, who envisions a future where residents and visitors alike can explore the breathtaking landscapes of the valley seamlessly. The organization's primary goal is to create a network of trails that not only promote outdoor recreation but also foster a deeper connection with nature. Alan Wheelwright, Executive Director, emphasized the importance of their mission, stating, "We want to connect the Valley with trails, paved and dirt, to ensure that as more development occurs, we don’t become completely reliant on vehicles, but have a well-planned network of non-motorized options for travel, as well as beautiful recreational destinations."

With the growing concerns about urbanization and environmental degradation, Eden Valley Trails aims to preserve the natural beauty of Ogden Valley while providing accessible avenues for recreational activities. By establishing a diverse range of trails, the organization seeks to accommodate various interests, including hiking, biking, running, and horseback riding.
The initiative has already garnered widespread support from local residents, businesses, and governmental organizations. Many see the development of trails as a means to connect residents, and improve overall quality of life in the community.
"We believe that investing in trails not only benefits our physical health but also contributes to the economic vitality of the region," remarked Wheelwright. "It's about creating spaces where people can come together, appreciate nature, and build a sense of belonging."
The organization is currently in the process of securing funding and partnerships to support their ambitious plans. Community members interested in getting involved or supporting the initiative are encouraged to reach out to Eden Valley Trails directly.
